The Great Adventure

27 10 2006

Although I really don’t have time to explain, I believe I still have time to appreciate. I know I know. I will soon be back to my blogging regimen. Anyway, a lot has been happening to my life lately that is actually testing my resolve and spirit. The best way I can explain it now is through this song:

====================================================

The Great Adventure

Saddle up your horses

Started out this morning in the usual way
Chasing thoughts inside my head of all I had to do today
Another time around the circle try to make it better than the last

I opened up the Bible and I read about me
Said I’d been a prisoner and God’s grace had set me free
And somewhere between the pages it hit me like a lightning bolt
I saw a big frontier in front of me and I heard somebody say “let’s go”!

CHORUS
Saddle up your horses we’ve got a trail to blaze
Through the wild blue yonder of God’s amazing grace
Let’s follow our leader into the glorious unknown
This is a life like no other – this is The Great Adventure

Come on get ready for the ride of your life
Gonna leave long faced religion in a cloud of dust behind
And discover all the new horizons just waiting to be explored
This is what we were created for

(Chorus)

BRIDGE
We’ll travel over, over mountains so high
We’ll go through valleys below
Still through it all we’ll find that
This is the greatest journey that the human heart will ever see
The love of God will take us far beyond our wildest dreams

Yeah… oh saddle up your horses… come on get ready to ride

(Chorus)

PS: I know I haven’t shown this side of me yet in this blog so this is the first. But yes dear friends, I love Christian songs. And this song is playing full blast in my PC now. Hehe.

My life may not be perfect, but it is definitely awesome!

Touch and Go

11 10 2006

It’s been a while since I posted a new entry. So what have I been up to lately? WOOORRRKKK! ALL WWWOORRRKK!!! WWAAHHH!!!

The project that I’m in is in the testing stage where I am supervising. The schedule is tight and the team is behind schedule. So what do we do? Overtime! It’s eating up even my personal time that I am unable to post even a decent entry of activities lately. I know this kind of life is going to temporarily continue until November so in an effort to update this blog, here’s a list of some of my whereabouts lately (I hope I make sense because this is a type-and-don’t-look-back entry):

Dive! – I was able to dive again after 5 months of no diving. It was just a day trip but it was well worth the effort. The first dive was at a place that I forgot the name. The dive entry was through back roll on a boat. The second dive was at this place called Batcave. We came in through shore entry. This was a memorable dive because this is the first time that I’ve seen a sea turtle! It was swimming in all its majesty 80 feet below. The feeling was a real rush seeing it in its ‘wild’ state. Now, I only have dolphins, sharks and sting rays in my list. I’ve already seen a lot of those beautiful fishes because the Philippines has one of the most diverse showcase of these creatures.

Figaro lunch on a blackout – first of all, I didn’t know Figaro served ‘real food.’ The one that you can actually eat for lunch and dinner and really enjoy. I always figured to be just another coffee shop. Hehe. Anyway, it as another IC lunch for us to celebrate Lui’s birthday and Jona’s promotion. It was after the ‘Milenyo’ typhoon so for some reason, Makati was having blackouts every now and then. It just so happened that this time, light were out just when we wanted to eat. Anyway, it was enjoyable nonetheless. Thanks Lui and Jona for the treat!

GK Expo experience – It was amazing! Especially when you serve Gawad Kalinga with someone you can hold hands with. Enough said. PDA again. Hehe.

Hazel’s honoring – My ‘enemy’ and school bus mate Hazel celebrated her birthday for SFC in her house. I was so full because the food was delicious. Hazel was honored as part of SFC tradition. This was I think a first for her. The honoring probably opened people to some realizations and decisions from other people. I’m not saying anything ok, I’m just saying… Anyway, I would say that the honoring was heartfelt, sincere and monumental (wow, big words!) Thanks Hazel and I wish you contentment and joy! God bless sis!

Longevity ‘libre’ – Today (Friday) is pay day and the payout of our longevity bonus. Yahoo! We ‘forced’ Chris to treat us since she surely has the biggest bonus being the manager and all. Hehe. She kindheartedly gave in and we had shall we say a more light but adult type conversation in Tempura. Things like when do we want to get married (except for Chris of course), how many children do we want to have, when etc etc.. You know, those adult stuff. Hehe. All I can say is – “not there yet”
